One of the most prolific and creative songwriters I've ever had the pleasure to know, this wild and crazy cat brings a Bob Dylan - Grateful Dead type of poetic prowess to his music.

He combines off beat, unexpected bridges with catchy hooks and insightful lyrics making for a most pleasant listening experience that would appeal to a diverse myriad of music loving enthusiasts.


ELzy lives in Orange County and spends time in Zurich Switzerland pursuing ventures of the heart and perfecting his yodeling skills. He played the Roadhouse Saloon in Luzern Switzerland captivating and delighting the local natives of this somewhat primitive, backwords country. His performance was enhanced by this really cool and quite handsome Bass player that goes by the name of "Ripthing" or "Ripshun", some damn silly thing.

In True legendary Bachman fashion, this rebellious yet ambrosial guitar manaic can set a stage on fire to the brink of explosion. And that's just him getting started!

Upon first meeting and having the opportunity to play with Pax, I was expecting the usual prima donna overbearingly loud egotistical "I Am Guitar God" facade typical of Artists of his caliber. Instead, here was this groovy soft spoken laid back Cat with chops so dynamically tasty it made my mouth water. After the first song, the words out of his mouth -"Was that ok guys? Was I to loud?" Gulp

The PaxMan tours regularly through out the greater Vancouver area and has been known to occasionally step in and rip up when visting his Orange County rat pack of chums.

Pax was kind enough to lay down some tracks on one of my projects - Not knowing the tunes, He nailed each with only ONE pass - "Want me to do it again?" - "Um, no Paxton, that should do it". was my reply while picking my jaw up off the floor. Wanna hear? Here's the MP3 of that track.

With his Father and Uncle being the founding members and principle songwriters of two very successful bands, the Guess Who and Bachman Turner Overdrive, it's no wonder he can play anything a guitar has to offer.

Tagging along with BTO and Van Halen's 5150 tour as a kid probably didn't hurt much either.

It Matters not, what song this cat might end with. You walk away and find yourself inexplicably humming the damn thing for the next several days. And this is only if you manage to get the previous frickin' tune outta your head making way for the next one.

Billy Shaw and His Drums of Thunder
OMG Is That Fugging Cat for Real!??

This was my first reaction upon seeing Billy wailing upon a frightened set of tubs like I've never seen before. 20 years and a thousand beers later, Bill and I have remained the best of buds with music, yet again, being the catalyst of another beautiful friendship.

A phenomenal accomplished piano and organ player, drums were always billy's forte and watching him play is nothing short of mesmerizing. We've been in clubs when the band finds out who he is and asks him to sit in.

One song is all it takes. I've actually seen a busy bustling bar come to a complete stand still, all eyes entrancingly fixed on this deceivingly unassuming dude taking a set of drums to a whole other level.

His impeccable timing, thundering rolls combined with his simultaneous stick twirling and flipping is truly a sight to behold. Recommended should the opportunity present itself.

Before moving out to the Palms Springs area and opening his very successful Desert Piano and Organ store, Billy played toured and/or recorded with The Shackles -- Finchley-Boys -- The Birds and Steppenwolf He was set to be the principle drummer until he and John Kay had a falling out (Over some chick, rumors relay).

Billy can be seen playing the Idyllwild Jazz Festival every early summer, and his very own Idyllwild Rocks Annual Fireman's Charity production at the local theater.

Bill and awesome wife Donna maintain a 2nd "summer oasis" home escape up in Idyllwild, complete with full basement recording and jam session studio, pool table and all the amenities. Anyone that's been to the Palm Springs area in summer will understand why his mountain home, only 45 minutes away is truly an oasis!

One of these days, mark these words, I will kick Billy Shaw's ass in a game of nineball. Keeps your que chops up, Shaw. Next time I'm taking you down faster then a 19th Century brick building in the middle of an earthquake fault. Oh, you can run, and make excuses, you can hide, quivering with fear but I'm gonna getcha, big time.
